An antique, Art Nouveau era signet ring, made in 14k yellow gold, with ornate, carved details that are especially well-preserved. The ring’s shoulders are adorned with a pair of realistic, fleshy poppies, whose toothed leaves travel down the ring shank to the base, where their stems twine together. Its round face is engraved with the monogram MLJ, in curling period script. According to the language of flowers, scarlet poppies are the flower of grand extravagance, while white poppies are the flower of sleep and dreams. You rarely see these rings so well preserved, and the poppies make this one extra special. The carved design is continuous. Marked k14 for purity.
